Semi-Private Swim Lessons
These
one to one learn to swim lessons are designed for those who require only
a couple more lessons in order to complete a Swim Kids level or for
those that require additional emphasis on instruction. The sessions are
one half hour in length.
Class times will
not be assigned until regular registration is over .

National
Lifeguard Service (NLS)
certification is the standard for professional lifeguards in Canada. The
Lifesaving Society certifies 25,000 NLS guards annually. This course is
designed to develop a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles,
good judgment and a mature and responsible attitude towards the role of
a lifeguard.
REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum age – 16 years. Must bring in proof of age at registration

Must have Bronze Cross certification, please bring in proof of Bronze
Cross
certification at registration

100% attendance is required

card holders $220 and non-rec card holders $235
This course is
a pre-requisite to the Water Safety Instructors course and provides
participants with an opportunity to experience hands on learning with
the Red Cross Swim program. Participants are exposed to teaching
methods, different learning styles, safety supervision as well as
effective communication. A minimum of 8 hours teaching experience are
extra in addition to the course.

Water Safety Instructors
This course
further develops instructional ability by focusing on how to apply the
information learned in the AWSI course to effectively plan and teach the
Red Cross Swim programs. Participants are provided with a minimum of 12
hours practical teaching experience in addition to the course.
